Hey Clay! at Middleport Pottery | Stoke on Trent

“And Now we are 40!”

This is an exhibition 4th March -23rd April, with 16 potters from Northern Potters Association South West. Although we also have guests, Muddy Fingers from the North East joining us too! We have chosen the weekend  8th and 9th April to celebrate NPA’s 40th birthday and ‘Hey Clay’ will be celebrated too, by having lots of demonstrations and clay experiences available, such as Muddy Fingers Raku firing, where people can glaze a pot  and fire it in the Japanese tradition, Throwing, Hand Building, Great Fun! There will be demonstrations throughout the Exhibition, As its our birthday, several of the members will be bringing cake too! 

Middleport of course is where The Great British Throwdown was filmed and visitors will recognise the venue if they have been watching it on TV.

Middleport are also celebrating ‘Easter Cow’ April 9th and there will be many activities for children.

There is also a rather special café on site that do a wonderful bacon and cheese oatcake. There are also many  extremely good craftspeople with studios on site that you can visit.

The exhibition and demonstrations will be on for the whole three days, but the Raku will be on Sunday 9th April

Hey Clay! is a Crafts Council national celebration of clay which aims to give people across the UK the chance to unleash their inner potter. Hey Clay! will take place during the nationwide Get Creative weekend from 7-9 April.
