Introduction into the therapeutic properties of clay-
Drop in session including exercises such as-
- Manipulating clay to personify an emotion ie- happy, sad, lonely, excited and then talking about the outcomes created for each emotion. Basic clay techniques presentation will be given of how to manipulate and build clay, however the objective is that individuals will develop their own relationship with the material and different visual ways to exemplify emotion
- All clay work produced will be merged together to make a big clay sculpture!
Everyone, but in particular Primary, Secondary and Higher education students.
This workshop aiming to create connections between these three stages in light of the decline of creative subjects studied at Primary and Secondary school level. Considering the mental health benefits to creating, and why this is essential in the early stages of life (ie primary school) and during stressful periods growing up (secondary school) and beyond
