Making Moulds and Casting Slip – with Jack Casey and Jo Keogh
A full day workshop for beginners or people already working with clay, looking to expand their skills and knowledge in particular with slip casting and mould making. During the workshop we will experiment with slip casting techniques, learn how to make a plaster mould and explore other applications of plaster in ceramics. This is a really exciting chance for anyone to gain skills and knowledge in the more niche disciplines of slip casting and mould making within ceramics. The full day workshop will give attendees lots of time to relax and enjoy making at their own pace, with plenty of time for exploration. Small groups of 6 attendees will allow Jack and Jo lots of time for one on one help, discussion and taking questions. Join us for a fun, relaxing and informative day of making.
Each attendee will:
Receive a booklet of easy to follow instructions, diagrams, notes and tips to take home for future reference.
Design and make a plaster mould for slip casting, to take home on the day.
Cast and decorate a vessel from a variety of stock moulds, which can be fired and collected for a small material fee.
