Workshop: wear your art on your sleeve

As part of the Make:Shift:Do 2017 craft wellbeing challenge of a craft intervention that can make the world a healthier, happier place, Julia Roy Williams will run a workshop called Wear Your Art On Your Sleeve!

A play on words of the phrase, wear your heart on your sleeve, we want people to share their emotions and feelings and use them create empowering wearable art. It could be a slogan or a logo or a message to someone who might be having a bad day.

Sometimes the smallest of gestures can make a big difference, and what better vehicle to share a message with than jewellery? It's out on the street for everyone to see!

Using permanent markers on Perspex, we will show how you can turn your slogans & illustrations into digital files and using a laser cutter, etch and cut your design to create wearable jewellery with a positive message.

Facilitated by WONDERHAUS AKA Julia Roy Williams, a local digital jewellery designer, who creates participatory events that allow people to explore digital design.

Make:Shift:Do is a nationwide programme of craft and innovation workshops taking place on 27 and 28 October 2017
