Crafting paper speakers and electronic tapestries
In this drop-in session on the Maker Bar, we will explore the invisible world of electromagnetic fields through crafting paper speakers. We will imagine new places for these frequencies to live, and we'll make and embed our own DIY speakers using soft-circuits. Expect hands-on paper crafts and electronic sounds.
No previous experience necessary. Suitable for families.
Crafting Frequencies - SOLD OUT
Led by maker Becca Rose this in-depth workshop is an exploration into electronic tapestries. By combining conductive threads and embroidery techniques we will explore and develop processes for textile based electromagnetic fields (EMFs). EMFs can be used as transmitters or receivers of information (such as speakers or antennas), and the samplers participants make would function technically as well as being beautifully embroidered pieces.
Suitable for adults. Some textiles experience necessary. Booking essential via Eventbrite.
