Overview of Role

We wish to engage a Consultant to help us with the communication and promotion of our new Collect Open Award programme.

For the 2026 edition of Collect we will be offering three Collect Open Awards for Black, Asian and global majority makers who identify from a low socio-economic background. The Consultant will assist in bringing their expertise and knowledge, to ensure that the communication and promotion of these awards is accessible, welcoming and widely shared

About the role

Working with key colleagues at Crafts Council, you will attend meetings at the Crafts Council's head office or online and communicate via email.
Review and make suggestions for improvements to:
- Collect Open Award general information / boilerplate: We have some text that we have used in our communication with supporters. We need to review and finalise this text so that we use it consistently (such as on the application form, website, etc.) and confidently.
- Eligibility Criteria: We need to agree the most appropriate, simple and accessible language to add relevant elements to our existing criteria.
Identify a list of new contacts and networks with which to share the opportunity
Develop and deliver a marketing and audience engagement strategy, with support from CC Comms colleagues
Reporting to the Director of Programmes and closely working with the Collect Fair Manager

Timeline

Deadline for Consultant applications is: Wednesday 15 January 2025 12 noon
Interview: Monday 20 January 2025
Term of engagement: January – May 2025
Initial meeting with CC team/sharing of documents: January 2025
Activity completed by: May 2025 (to include evaluation period)
