Brookfield Properties Craft Award 2022: Christian Ovonlen
One of the undoubted highlights of this year's Collect art fair was textile artist Christian Ovonlen's display at Intoart's booth, which scooped him the Brookfield Properties Craft Award 2022. To celebrate, Ovonlen's hand-dyed, printed silk pieces – inspired by the colour and movement of dance and theatre – are going on show at two of Brookfield Properties' London buildings this summer.
20 June to 25 September across two Brookfield Properties sites - 99 Bishopsgate and Aldgate Tower, London
Lawson Oyekan, William Plumptre, Nicola Tassie & Gavin Turk
This exhibition at Cross Lane Projects in Kendal brings together four otherwise disparate artists, united here by their use of clay. These range from William Plumptre, one of the foremost potters working in the Anglo-Japanese tradition, to contemporary artist Gavin Turk, who has invited members of the public to manipulate his self-portraits in raw clay.
Until 25 June at Cross Lane Projects in Kendal, Cumbria
