    Learning and Business Skills Supporter

Cox London is delighted to be the Crafts Council’s 2021/22 Learning and Business Skills Supporter. This is the third year of their partnership with the Crafts Council, a true reflection of their ongoing commitment to helping support the future generations of craft.

Cox London and the Crafts Council will work closely to help ignite a passion for craft amongst school children and young people as well as supporting teachers, craft makers and craft businesses.

'Our partnership with the Crafts Council is about going back to grassroots, working with people who haven’t had the opportunities we’ve had and supporting emerging makers which feels particularly important right now’ said Chris Cox, co-founder and creative director of Cox London. Adding ‘As makers we understand that to make something by hand, from nothing, is a basic human need.’

    About Cox London

Tucked away in Tottenham Hale is Cox London, one of London’s most thriving craft enterprises, where all manner of metalworking skills are performed in workshops, along with woodwork, stone-carving and glassmaking techniques.

Founded in 2005 by sculptors Christopher and Nicola Cox, the company employs talented craftspeople to explore materials like bronze, blown glass and stone to create furniture, sculptures and lighting. As well as being maker-designers in their own right, the design duo are passionate about passing on their skills and instilling young people with confidence to pursue a career in craft.

As ambassadors for all things beautiful and well made, they see high-quality craftsmanship and original design as paramount. Speaking to a handful of today’s top interior designers, Cox London aim to promote and underline how crucial a vast array of crafts are to our modern world of interiors.

We strongly believe, using the head, the heart and the hand to create, nourishes the soul and contributes to our wellbeing — all life-affirming outcomes that should be open to all. Nobody understands this better than the Crafts Council, which is why we wholeheartedly support all their Craft education initiatives.
