Oyster jewellery
Inspired by oyster shells holding a precious pearl, the collection features kiln-formed white, and black glass that has been cold-worked to create a satin finish and irregular edge. The 'pearl' is made from glossy pink glass in contrast to its black or white background. Encrusted silver or gold forms a pattern around the glass, reminiscent of the textured surface of the shells. The original pendant was acquired by the British Glass Foundation, Stourbridge, for the national collection of glass.
