About

The art of tapestry weaving is one which Caron Penney has developed over a career which has involved the creation of artwork for artists such as Gillian Ayres, Martin Creed and Tracey Emin.

Penney is also a prolific exhibition-led weaver in her own right. ‘A defining characteristic of her oeuvre as an artist is the use of visual semiotics in expressing autobiographical themes.’

In 2013 Penney opened her own studio, Weftfaced, where she makes tapestry to commission and sale.
