contemporary felt, memory, change & transformation

£800 — £1200

My work explores patterns of change and transformation, which are echoed by the alchemy of the felt making process itself. Wool fibres, water and soap are combined to transform into a fabric which can be shrunk into tactile forms through a long and physical process. The wool memorises the form as it dries. Despite the characteristic strength of felt there is an implied fragility to the sculpted form. I am interested in this tension, and how far I can push the boundaries of the medium.
