Jo Barker designs and weaves tapestries based upon a long-term interest in colour. She makes work for exhibitions and to commission, both public and private.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is in numerous collections including the V&A Museum and the House of Lords.

With interests in drawing and painting, the designs employ a range of marks, shapes and patterns, the aim being to create tapestries that are luminous, sensual and atmospheric.


The 4th Cordis Prize for Tapestry

I am delighted to have been invited to be one of the judges for the next Cordis Prize for Tapestry. The exhibition of selected artists work will be held in the stunning setting of Inverleith House Gallery, Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh.

International Blues

'International Blues' is the first in a series of exhibitions at the new Fen Ditton Gallery, Cambridge. Each show will focus on some very different artists and designers who have explored colour through deep engagement with particular materials.
