Mixed media artist and embroiderer

Grimsby, Lincolnshire

figurative, embroidery, mixed media

£150 — £3500

Sue Stone is a UK based textile artist who studied Fashion at St Martins School of Art, and then Embroidery at Goldsmiths College in London. She is current Chair and exhibiting member of the 62 Group of Textile Artists and a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.

Sue’s work contrasts the slow build of hand stitch with the spontaneity of machine stitch and paint, in which images of past and present merge to create a partial narrative which the viewer is invited to complete.
