My work consists of using Shibori techniques to produce plant and landscape forms on textiles. I create images by “drawing” clean lines and simple forms onto the fabric. Each piece is finished entirely by hand; images are drawn, stitched, pulled-up, all to create a resist in the fabric, and then dyed. Natural plant or synthetic dyes are used on silk, organic cotton, wool and linen.
The fabrics are transformed into lampshades and wall-hangings.
