Newington Green Meeting Table
This table and bench were commissioned, through this Directory, by the recently refurbished historic Newington Green Meeting House in North London. The English oak was sourced from the Duke of Buccleugh's Northamptonshire Estate, at kiln dried at the Geddington sawmill. The part elliptical table fits into the gallery overlooking the nave of the church. Either sit at the bench to attend meetings or swivel round to lean against the table to participate in activities overlooking the nave.

Four English oak boards were jointed to form the tabletop, 2.5m long, 1.4m wide and about 35mm thick.
The tabletop has a straight edge adjacent to the bench extended down allowing people to use it as a back rest when looking out into the nave
The boards forming the tabletop were matched to emphasise the figure in the stunning quarter sawn English oak.
The base of the table is an open box, allowing for much needed storage space. The sides and back are made with raised panels and electrical sockets and charging points are sited at each corner. A trap door in the base allows access to the floor mounted electrical supply.
