Caron Penney specialises in finely made hand-woven tapestry using the traditional Gobelin weaving technique. Her art installation The Red Line addresses fluctuations in time, space and motion. Repetition, pattern and systems are long-held fascinations for the artist. Penney creates a fusion of ancient weaving and dyeing skills to make her challenging tapestries, which have an optical colour vibration and are imbued with hidden meaning. She has a long career of making tapestries and runs her own Atelier Weftfaced in the south of England. This is her first time exhibiting at Collect Open.
