Natural Dyeing
More recent work is based on the myth of Persephone and uses natural plant dyes and sustainable plant papers.
Over the past few years I have been experimenting with natural dye mainly from plants in the garden. After a visit to Ditchling Dye Garden I made further experiments and created a range of very soft colours.
To be as sustainable as possible all dyes were produced using the solar dye method and without the addition of chemicals or heat.

After visiting Ditchling Dye Garden for a tour and talk last year I made flower dyes and used them to colour this small sketch.
