In the Garden - Silk Hand Embroidery

The garden is a traditional subject for embroidery. I wanted to explore this theme in my work and in August 2004 I was invited to be Artist in Residence at Winterbourne Botanic Garden. The initial inspiration for the project came from research of the historical textiles at the Victoria & Albert Museum and from my own collection of domestic embroideries. The publication 'In the Garden' is available to order. Scottish Arts Council Crafts Creative Development Award.
