It has been a revelatory experience working with abstracted clay forms, a subtle way of exploring relationships. It's less didactic, more sinister and funnier than recreating human shapes. How we project meaning onto these forms, and what that says about us, is fascinating to me.
I tend to leave traces of hand-built manufacture in the work, adding to their strong organic sense. I’m happy with this balancing act that can be seen as art and craft, vases, seed pods or a human relationship.
