I choose lampworking for its directness in physically sculpting glass, with simple tools as extensions of my fingers to move the glass. In kiln forming the glass is confined. Traditional blowing has the drama of free molten glass, but is a team effort with work planned in advance.
My only accomplice is the flame I direct just where I need to change the glass. There is no need to explain or stick to schedules. The process becomes meditative as I fall in sync with the speed & flow of the glass.
