Derived with a respectful nod to the Arts and Crafts furniture exponents of the early twentieth century — Ernest Gimson and Sidney Barnsley — who took inspiration for numerous pieces from the jointed frameworks of wooden waggon sides.
This piece, first made in the mid 1990s, similarly draws on vehicular architecture in the form of the impact frameworks found on the sides of contemporary waggons or trucks of more recent years.
