Through my work I explore aspects of my sense of self, in particular, my need to feel in control in a world which is unpredictable and chaotic. I see this contradiction mirrored on social media, where many of us present a curated and idealised version of our lives, rather than the challenging and capricious nature of reality. I try to ensure that the kiln is always full, or as close to full as possible, to reduce the number of firings overall.
