Cups

Karen Thompson

Scarborough, England

Cappuccino Cups (Collaged) - Seagull, Karen Thompson

These porcelain cappuccino cups consist of a range of designs taken from drawings in my Sketchbooks, these are frequently used with images I have photographed to make individual collages.

Espresso Cups, Karen Thompson

Small dented porcelain espresso cups, these have a cast of a violin tuning peg for a handle. The cups have a range of unique high fired glazes that I have created from scratch.

Cups of Death (Functional), David Chalmers

Porcelain cups that are murder to drink from! The sharp edges providing a challenge for the most determined drinker. (They have been designed to leave enough room for ones chin to be able to clear the spikes without injury).

Pierced & Cut Porcelain Mug (Functional), Karen Thompson

The Pierced Porcelain mugs combine industrial and handmade making processes. Each mug is slipcast very finely and then when the clay is still wet, pierced & cut by hand. I do not penetrate through to the inside of the mug and as such the mugs remain fully functional.
