I make two- and three-dimensional textiles for exhibition and installation. My work is informed by a subtle aesthetic, influenced by the simple beauty of Japanese crafts, and is characterized by fineness and detail. I use painting, mark-making, erasure and other techniques during the process of weaving to produce structurally-complex multi-layered pieces.
Handwritten and gestural marks, their fragmentation over time and subsequent lost meaning, are a particular focus of interest.
