Lark & Bower is the brain child of Sarah Ward, an Essex based hand weaver. The idea of ‘off-loom’ weaving was conceived during the first lockdown, when she had no access to her loom. She started using needle and thread to make small studies of woven structures. All the pieces are woven with mill waste yarn, and she plans to use them to raise awareness about waste in the textile industry, and to shine a spotlight on craftsmanship and woven structure as an art form in its own right.

Focus:
celebrating woven structure as an art form in its own right
Commissions:
Available for commissions
