Deana Lee

Ceramic artist

Wandsworth, Greater London

smoke fired art

Each sculpture that Deana creates is inspired by the natural world. Her work is highly burnished as this results in extremely tactile shapes and allows the detail of the smoke pattern to shine through. Deana uses the ancient smoke firing processes in a more contemporary way to create unique effects that have depth and fluidity. In order to create a rich vein running through her work she will break the wall art or dish and then rejoined it with resin which is coated in either silver or gold leaf.
