About

I make hand-stitched textile urban birds and animals, ranging from exhibition work that may also incorporate mixed media to smaller, more spontaneous pieces inspired by toys. I use vigorous, visible stitching to create vitality, and often alter by fraying and reworking the small pieces of textiles used, to express the idea of the fragility of urban animals’ lives. Trained in ceramics at Glasgow School of Art, I began working in textiles in 2006, setting up my company, Nameless Wonders, in 2009.
