Sue Stone is a UK based artist/maker who studied Fashion at St Martins School of Art, and then Embroidery at Goldsmiths College in London. She is current Chair and exhibiting member of the 62 Group of Textile Artists and a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.

Sue’s most recent work has an emphasis on hand embroidery and is a personal examination of memory, identity, and relationships with self; the viewer is invited to view the partial narrative and draw their own conclusions.


Every Picture Tells a Story

This narrative 3 day workshop encourages exploration and experimentation with different ways to tell your own story using images and anecdotes to convey ideas, thoughts and memories. Hand stitch or hand/machine stitch. The choice is yours.

1 Day hand and appliqué portrait workshop for Selvedge magazine at the Art Workers Guild in London. In this workshop Sue will explain how to create a portrait using hand stitch and appliqué.

Ctrl/Shift • 62 Group

‘From Grimsby to Greenpoint and Beyond’ has been selected for the 62 Group exhibition ‘Ctrl/Shift’ which will open at NCCD, Sleaford on 2 February and runs until 22 April 2019. The piece measures 175 x 123 cms when assembled.
