ArtKnit cushions

Each cushion is a 'one-off' knitted piece with an eclectic mix of famous and not so famous faces, architecture, sculpture, paintings, graphic patterning, typography and anything else that comes to mind, using many different yarn qualities and colours. So far there are three different categories - Classical, Pop Art and Mostly Matisse, and now newly added - my 'Icon Range'. I will be developing more of these in future.

'Elvis and Marylin' Pop ArtKnit cushions, knitted in cotton and chenille yarn, silk backed, Penny Burdett

Cushion from my iconic Art Knit range. Each one unique, inspired by Andy Warhol and a mix of random Pop Art patterns inspired by artists such as Bridget Riley, Roy Lichtenstein and Richard Hamilton. Getting a face to work properly in a knitted fabric is an art in itself, and usually takes several attempts before it is right. I love mixing typography in too.
