Espresso cups, beakers, bowls and teapots are amongst my staples. My work has been described as Post Industrial, Steam Punk and Art Deco-meets-Leach. All are labels I can live with and all imply a little attitude – which I like. However, what I really like is the idea that people want to use my work - ideally every day.Focus:TablewareCommissions:Available for commissionsStockists:London based crafts marketsRobert Silver Pottery will be at Handmade in Chelsea (Chelsea Old Town Hall, Kings Rd, London, SW3) 12th, 13th and 14th Novemberif you can, please come and say Hello. I would love to meet you. And, of course, I'm also looking forward to a chance to meet so many talented makers who will also be there. It's hard to be sustainable if you're a potter. You use materials that are mined - which destroys habitats - and then subject them to mind bending temperatures which uses up energy. So my approach is to be mindful of what I do and the materials I use. If in doubt as to weather a pot should go forwards or be recycled the answer is always No. that way the clay can be recycled. I look for small victories every day.
