Rachel O’Connell
I am a multi-media marbling artist and an educator, with over 30 years marbling and textiles experience. I launched my brand in 2021.
I create marbled textile art for home décor, lighting, stationery and as wearable art. I make in small batches, with larger items made to order.
I have exhibited and sold work in Manchester Art Gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery, MAKE Southwest and in The British Museum. I tutor in schools, community groups, galleries and museums.
- Focus:
- My focus is on marbled textile art to wear and use in the home
- Commissions:
- Available for commissions
Working towards net zero alignment, I have a circular design range, made from offcuts of marbled textiles and paper, to create items including marbled leather jewellery, key fobs, handmade paper and fabric bags.
I repurpose theatrical textiles received from the Royal Opera House and beads from fair-trade makers.
I am currently working on a filtration system for my new studio, so marbling paints are absorbed in lime, so the water run off is clean.
Packaging is repurposed recycled paper.
