Selection Process
We received 170 submissions for Craft School: Material World 2024-25. All submissions were first reviewed by our Learning and Participation team. Submissions were grouped by key stage and assessed against the following criteria: Craft-Based, Risk Taking and Development as Makers.
Next, a longlist from each Key Stage was created and this was assessed by several Crafts Council project teams, including learning and participation, Collect art fair, Collections team and our Crafts editorial team.
Finally, the shortlisted entries were judged by an external panel:
- Sam Kendall, Eden Project
- Michele Gregson, NSEAD
- Bill Lucas, University of Winchester Centre for Real World Learning
- Paula Briggs, Access Art
- Rose Sinclair MBE , Goldsmiths, University of London
- Melanie Eddy, CC Board of Trustees
- Melody Ramsay, Burberry, Craft Council's Young Advisory Panel
The panel agreed on four winning submissions, one from each Key stage.
