Do you think you could be a Trustee at a vibrant charity providing an arts centre and forest school for adults with learning disabilities in Cambridge and the surrounding area?
Rowan is keen to add Trustees to our current board and is particularly looking for people with a background in:
- Estates / buildings
- Finance (Qualified accountant)
- Professional care
We are looking for people with time to commit to attending our Trustee meetings, currently held monthly on a Wednesday between 5pm and 7pm, at 40 Humberstone Road, Cambridge. This is a voluntary role, but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed. We will also provide all necessary, ongoing training to support you in this role.
Please note a DBS check will be required.
The Charity Commission outlines the key roles for a trustee as:
- Ensures the charity carries out its purposes for the public benefit (and does not go beyond its purposes);
- Ensures the charity complies with its governing document and with the law;
- Acts in what the trustees believe to be the charity’s best interests;
- Manages the charity’s resources responsibly;
- Acts with reasonable care and skill; and
- Ensures the charity is accountable.
