Description
Community Ventures Port Talbot CIC is seeking two freelance tutors specialising in a heritage or traditional craft. The tutors will each develop and deliver an eight-week series of workshops as part of ‘Taibach Community Education: Past to Present’, a National Lottery Heritage Fund project. The project is based in Taibach Community Education Centre in Port Talbot.
As part of the grant, we are looking to promote traditional and heritage crafts, especially those in danger of being lost. We would particularly welcome course proposals that focus on a Welsh craft. The first course will run in October and November and the second course will run in January and February. There will be one workshop a week, lasting between two and three hours. Tutors should have a good knowledge and experience of their craft and feel confident teaching adults. T
he courses will be available to members of the public in Port Talbot and the wider area. They will be free to attend and all materials will be supplied. Course participants will be over 18 and from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Each tutor will receive an inclusive fee of £1800 (including VAT). This fee covers the tutor’s time, travel, preparation, design, delivery, and evaluation. There will also be a separate materials budget agreed with the tutor during the planning phase.
