This year's Saturday club is focused on Textiles and Garment production. Please read the full workshop description.
The ideal applicant would have appropriate skills to help the young people develop their work using techniques such as print making, appliqué, embroidery, upcycling fabric/garments and plastic manipulation. Experience using equipment such as sewing machines would be ideal. Previous experience as a teacher's assistant or assisting similar creative classes/workshops for teenagers would be beneficial; however, most importantly, the candidate must be confident and comfortable working with teenagers. Examples of responsibilities include:
- Assisting the workshop leader in setting up the space and cleaning up afterwards
- Assisting the young people in learning new creative techniques and developing their work
- Accompanying the group on external trips in London. These include: the visit, the masterclass and the summer show.
