Join our warm and inclusive pottery studio as a Studio Technician, where creativity and community go hand in hand. We're looking for a reliable, friendly, and proactive team member to support the day-to-day running of our studio on weekdays and weekends. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, creative space and enjoys supporting others in their artistic practise.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in ceramics:
Basic skills in trimming, glazing, and kiln-safe handling of pottery.
- Attention to detail: Ensures tasks are completed accurately and efficiently (e.g., following the tech checklist).
- Strong communication skills: Able to clearly communicate with team members, volunteers, and studio members.
- Organisational skills: Comfortable managing multiple tasks, keeping the studio tidy, and maintaining systems (e.g., shelf organisation, reclaim management).
- Customer service experience: Friendly and helpful, able to assist with inquiries and payments.
- Independent worker: Capable of opening/closing the studio and taking initiative with minimal supervision.
- Team player: Works well with others and supports a positive, inclusive studio culture.
- Basic tech literacy: Comfortable capturing content with a smartphone or camera for social media.
- Availability on weekdays: Must be available for part-time weekday shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing the studio independently
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming studio environment
- Communicating clearly with the team and studio members
- Completing all tasks on the technician checklist
- Assisting customers, answering inquiries, and processing payments
- Trimming and glazing pottery
