Established in 1974, Milton Keynes Arts Centre (MKAC) is a multidisciplinary arts centre set in the historic grounds of Great Linford Manor Park and a National Portfolio Organisation of Arts Council England.
We specialise in co-developing projects with artists and communities in Milton Keynes that respond to the issues affecting people’s lives and help to empower often marginalised communities in the city. We provide opportunities for diverse people to engage in the arts, to acquire new skills through working with artists, and to support health and well-being. We also hire our spaces out for meetings, weddings and other celebrations on a regular basis. We are seeking a Weekend & Evening Event Assistant (casual) to support out-of-hours hires and events at MKAC; to ensure all aspects of security for the buildings, visitors and staff; and to act as the reception point for the organisation.
This is a lone-working position. The ideal candidate will have experience of events security work, will be confident working alone and having keyholder responsibility for the site. They will have good interpersonal skills, a confident, authoritative style, be literate and numerate with a basic level of IT skills. They will be able to work with minimal supervision with a strong customer focus and be able to work evenings and weekends. MKAC treats all job applicants equally, regardless of class, age, disability, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation or any other equality characteristic.
We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in the cultural sector. For a full job description please visit our website here.
