We Will Walk – Art and Resistance in the American South
The first exhibition on the topic in the UK, We Will Walk brings together work by African American makers from Alabama and surrounding states. From the famous quilts of Gee’s Bend to guitars by Freeman Vines, all were created during or after the Civil Rights struggles of the 1950s and 60s.
