What do you need to grow your craft business?

12 November 2020

Take our maker needs survey to help us curate resources, support craft businesses and influence government policy

Our fifth annual maker needs survey has landed! We hear you, surveys can be a drag, but understanding what you need to maintain and further your practice is vital to developing our work to support artists, designers and makers at all career stages. This is particularly important in the context of COVID-19 and Brexit.

It takes ten minutes max and completed surveys will be given the chance to enter our free prize draw to receive one-to-one advice sessions* or £50 Cass Art vouchers. Deadline 15 January 2021.

Take the survey now.

How does your information support us?

With your help, maker needs surveys have helped us:

  • Lobby government for support in craft export following Brexit.
  • Create specific workshops, talks, advice sessions and resources based on your needs.
  • Work with craft organisations to improve maker support in local areas.
  • Support the recovery and growth of craft businesses in the wake of Brexit.

Without your information we will not have the tools to influence government and support small businesses in the best way possible. Please complete this survey before 15 January and help us spread the word.

Questions?

If there are any topics you feel are missing from this survey, please get in touch with the Talent Development team at makerdev@craftscouncil.org.uk.

Please share the survey with fellow makers to help us gain insight and strengthen the craft community.

*Our bespoke one-to-one maker advice sessions look at your whole practice, ethos and skill set to help you take the next steps in your practice that are realistic and achievable. We follow up the session with a half-hour phone call scheduled when you need it. For some this is a few weeks after their initial session, for others it can be several months depending on the progress of their action points.
