Acquisitions appeal - support makers' income

    • Momoka Gomi at work

The Covid-19 crisis has created significant hardship for those who make their living through making. The Crafts Council is committed to supporting as many makers as possible during these uncertain times.

Through our Acquisitions Appeal we are raising funds to support craft incomes through buying or commissioning work directly from makers.

With your donation, you can support makers and also ensure that their work is represented in the Crafts Council Collection for the benefit of future generations.

You can make a donation at a level that allows us to fully purchase or commission a new work; or also make a smaller contribution towards a purchase, and every penny from your donation will directly support a maker.

We will purchase works as part of the #artistsupportppledge initiative and all works purchased by the Crafts Council through this appeal will become part of our national collection.

If your organisation wishes to commission a maker as part of this campaign, and work with the Crafts council to raise awareness of the commission, please email Aysen Yilmaz, associate director, creative partnerships.
