Participate in hands-on workshops, listen to talks and meet makers from the Gaining Ground exhibition
To mark the closing of the Gaining Ground exhibition at the Crafts Council Gallery, this celebratory event will bring together artists and thinkers for an evening exploring how craft can support more ethical ways of working with nature and one another.
Focusing on making projects highlighted in the exhibition, visitors will learn about global craft practices and philosophies that engage with ecology to protect species, repair ecosystems, and promote environmental and social care.

Teal Triggs (Royal College of Art, London) in conversation with Celia Matsunaga (University of Brasília, Brazil) and Chief Domingos Munduruku (Belterra, Pará, Brazil) in person and online
6.30pm - Conversation - Gaining Ground
Gaining Ground Curator Ligaya Salazar in conversation with artists Bine Roth (Peut Porter) and Ione Maria Rojas exploring making practices in Bangladesh and Mexico.
7.30pm - Workshop - Clay and Conversation*
Building on her travels to Michoacán, Mexico, this workshop led by artist Ione Maria Rojas will explore how working with wild clay can catalyse a reconnection with soil, earth and the local environment.
