Join textile and mixed media artist Sarah Hunt to create your own wintery baby snowy owl picture. Find a fork, seek out a sponge, collect some newspaper and crayons, but there is just one rule – NO paintbrushes allowed!
Family First Saturdays are for families of all ages to join in a fun and creative Seasonal workshops led by our team of artist leaders, inspired by form, colour or Seasonal traditions, workshops will be accompanied by a brief history of the subject, making method or materials used.
Hour long sessions are designed to stimulate and educate children and young people in visual arts and heritage craft, supporting their creative development and experiences in: - participating in arts and heritage craft activities - learning about the artist tutors and their work - sharing their artwork and ideas with friends, families and each other Within the hour, children and families will be given a brief introduction to the artist and the outcomes of the workshop, followed by a making session and ending on a display of work by the group.
Workshops will be live, delivered online via Zoom from the artist home studio for February, March and April 2021. All participants will have their cameras and audio switched on at the start so that introductions can be made. Depending on the size of the group, we would allow for cameras and audio to stay switched on to allow for further engagement between participants and artists. A step-by-step illustrated guideline will be available to download after the workshop, to enable families to continue working on their final pieces. £4.50 per household. Recommended for ages 5+, children must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times.
