Join Studio Critical: in experimenting with making spinning tops, Spinning tops are among the oldest toys ever discovered by archaeologists. A clay top unearthed in Iraq was dated to 35th century BC - that's nearly six thousand years ago!
In this short 30-minute workshop, Nick from Studio Critical: will walk you through the steps, from materials to finished spinning top. We’ll look at how different materials and shapes will affect the way the top spins and create different patterns with mark making on the spinning top’s base. You’re guaranteed to smile and make a unique spinning top. This fun and simple workshop is great for all ages, although supervision may be required when using sharp tools.
