Jo Cope and Shelter come together again for London Craft Week 2022 in a unique collaboration at Boutique By Shelter, presenting the work of 7 invited hat designers who were paired with previously homeless individuals to tell their stories.
A diverse range of hat designers/artists were invited to work with individuals who faced homelessness to understand their story and their future hopes. The hats in this project will represent a 'roof over the head' while exploring the importance of having a home that you can call your own, a place to lay your 'hat' and to rest your head.
The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the thousands of people tackling evictions, unfit housing conditions, landlord issues and homelessness. With the right support and by working together, people can fight for their right to a safe home.
Designers: Vivienne H. Lake, Sage Townsend, Flora Mclean, Lucy Barlow, Karen Henriksen, Maxwell Shoroye and Vesna Pesic. Project Director: Jo Cope.
