The Gloucestershire Guild of Crafts is running a series of ‘Meet the Maker’ craft demonstrations at Chapel Arts Cheltenham over the coming weeks and months. These sessions are free for visitors.
The Gloucestershire Guild of Crafts has got a fantastic line up of makers involved in these Meet the Maker demonstration sessions. From ceramicist Adrian Bates demonstrating making tea light holders to the brilliant willow weaver Susan Early demonstrating how to make Christmas decorations. Here is the full line up.
22 October
Sally Davis – Jewellery Sally will be demonstrating the magic of enamelling brooches using enamel powders and heating in a kiln until melted.
29 October
Liz Valenti - 3D paper collage Liz Valenti shall be showing my paper collages of clothes & related subjects including gloves & shoes based on Tunnocks Tea Cake papers.
5 November
Adrian Bates – Ceramics As the days shorten and winter approaches turn your mind to the warmth of hearth & home and the gentle serenity of candlelight. These porcelain tea lights are the perfect showcase for this light and also make lovely objects during the day.
12 November
Liz Lippiatt - Textile Designer and Silk Screen Printer Liz will demonstrate the principals of screen printing by designing and cutting paper stencils to resist stippled pigment dyes and making lavender nosegays
19 November
Jenny Bicat - Textiles Jenny will explore the the possibilities of combining fabric manipulation and screen printing on calico
26 November
Susan Early - Basketry Weaving willow and rush into simple platters and Christmas decorations
3 December
Harriet St Leger - Jeweller and Enameller Harriet will demonstrate enamelling on copper in a kiln, using hand cut stencils to make jewellery and wall panels.
10 December
Corinne Hockley - Textiles Corinne will demonstrate making ‘Fairy Godmothers’ - stitched and papier-mâché dolls made using vintage fabrics and trinkets
