  • Participant at the National Festival of Making

The fourth edition of the National Festival of Making will return to Blackburn on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2022.

Book now or drop into a series of making workshops featuring; art and industry commissions; artisan craft and local food producers; marketplaces; community embedded projects; and celebratory music and performance.

Whether it’s during the festival weekend or as part of the year-round programme, each free and low-cost workshop is guaranteed to get you making!

Festival workshops include traditional Asian wedding crafts to welding, leather-working to hand-embroidery, ancient mold-making to screen-printing and everything in between.

At the heart of this year's programme is the theme of 'Art in Manufacturing'. Tools, materials and industry expertise from a diverse range of manufacturing companies will be put into the hands of national and international artists, whilst a series of creative residencies evolve on the factory floor.

Come along to see ambitious new works of art ranging from sculpture to choreography and digital to site-specific installations.
