Olga Prinku is an embroidery and botanical artist who uses nature as her thread. In this exhibition Olga honours the wonder of nature through four series that showcase her unique style: "Flora and Fauna", "Graft", "About Time" and "Hidcote".
Olga combines dried flowers, twigs, foliage, grasses, seedheads and berries with tulle fabric to create floral tapestries which seem to float in their frames. Olga invented flowers-on-tulle embroidery in 2016 and her techniques are all self-taught. The “Hidcote” series uses materials foraged from the garden at the National Trust property, and highlights how its designed structure brings out the patterns of nature in all seasons. Olga says: “I am delighted to exhibit at Hidcote. There’s a harmony between my work and curating a formal garden – nature inspiring humans to work with its rhythms and beauty.”
