Curlews
The Norfolk coast is being eroded with sea-level rise and extreme weather. Bricks which have been tumbled in the sea are evidence of this tragedy. Walking on the beach, I select sea-sculpted bricks to collect. The Curlews are a different approach to balance. A single stainless steel rod is formed to create a circular cradle to hold the vessel in space. The solid form of the vessel contrasts with the thin line of the stainless steel rod which attaches it to the sea sculpted brick.
