Our world is full of disposable textiles, where the origins of the materials are often lost in the mechanised process of making. However, within my hand spun and handwoven textiles, I go back to the origins of the yarn, which is the animal in the field. I combine the traditional skill of hand spinning from fleeces of rare breed sheep and British alpacas with contemporary design. I aim to encourage an emotional connection by using fleece which has a story and reflects our British heritage.
