Fragments
A series of hand stitched art works, which explore our British heritage and rural traditions, which are slowly fading from memory. Forgotten human connections with sheep are reflected in the images from discarded vintage photographs and these are stitched, patched and darned onto fragments of frequently disintegrating cloth. A reminder that the origins of wool is an animal, which has been managed by man and that connection is precious. Humble stitch preserves both memory and cloth.
